This new club presented to our students has much to offer!
The name of the new club is the Interact Club. It is the Rotary International’s service club for ages 12-18 years old. The focuses of the club are developing leadership skills and engaging in community and international service projects while promoting “service above self.”
My’Anna Wilson has become involved this year with other Rotary sponsored competitions and wanted to start a club at Galileo. She asked Mrs. Conner if she would be the teacher sponsor for the club and she agreed. As the club gets off the ground at Galileo, it will organize at least two projects every year – one that helps the school or community and one that promotes international understanding.
The club will meet once per month to discuss and organize possible service projects. This club will offer opportunities for students at Galileo to become involved in a fun and engaging environment through participating in different activities, events, and service projects. There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, April 26th after school in Room #27 (Mrs. Conner). Any student is welcome to attend!
