This upcoming Saturday, UFC 309 will be taking place; this event will be held in the Madison Square Garden arena in New York and is said to be the best fight card of 2024. Arguably the best fighter of all time, Jon “Bones” Jones, will be fighting the Heavyweight GOAT, Stipe Miocic, at UFC 309 for the Heavyweight Title Belt on November 16th.
They will be going head-to-head for 5 grueling rounds, each being 5 minutes long; it will be a test that decides who has the better technique inside the octagon and who will be able to ultimately come out the GOAT of the division. Jones will be able to show off his advanced and unorthodox striking as well as his high-level wrestling which has been able to break down even Olympic-level wrestlers such as Daniel Cormier.
Miocic has used his impressive boxing to dismantle many of his opponents and was able to secure the Heavyweight Belt 2 times. Both of these Mix Martial Artists have phenomenal records with Bones having a record of 27 wins and 1 loss, being by a disqualification due to an illegal 12-6 elbow directed at the face during ground and pound; Miocic has a record of 20-4 with several impressive knockouts and has shown that he can beat a majority of fighters in the stand-up aspect of this sport.
At the end of the day, it takes an immense amount of courage to do what these two men are doing and respect should be shown to both fighters for all the hard work and training that they have to go through.
