Galileo’s swim team has been diving into success this season, showing improvement across the board. The new swimmers are getting more comfortable, while the returning athletes continue to set the bar high. The swimmers are coming in with amazing energy, and with the guidance of new coaches Mrs. Saunders and Ms. French, we can expect an amazing and exciting season.
In a recent meet against GW in Martinsville, Galileo secured several top finishes:
- Junior Thomas Hungarland took first place in the Boys’ 100-meter Freestyle and second place in the Boys’ 50-meter Freestyle.
- Junior Zain Zain-Alabideen placed first in the Boys’ 100 meter Backstroke.
- Sophomore Eddie Morris secured second in the Boys’ 100 meter BackStroke.
- The relay team of sophomore Andrew Kenney, Hungarland, Morris, and Zain-Alabideen placed second in the Boys’ 200 meter Freestyle Relay.

All in all, with such strong performances, Galileo has the potential to go far. If everyone can stay healthy and focused, there’s no limit.
The team’s next challenge is at Regions on Saturday, February 8th, in Warrenton, Virginia. Stay tuned to see how the Falcons continue to make a splash!
