Galileo is having their first homecoming dance ever! Homecoming is a school-spirit tradition that Galileo is celebrating this year which combines sports, school spirit, and social activities into a week-long celebration ending in a Powder Puff game and dance.
While this may be an exciting time it can also be stressful. Many individuals often find themselves wondering where to purchase their dress, how long in advance should they purchase their dress, what to do with their hair and accessories to wear.
Homecoming is typically a formal event. A homecoming traditionally consists of shorter dresses or bodycon longer ones. Ballgowns or very showy dresses are typically worn to prom.
Buying your dress at least a month in advance is very important. This is due to the fact that if you are planning on ordering your dress online, the shipping could take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks. It is also important to leave room for error, this includes the unfortunate chance that you may have ordered the wrong size and needed to exchange it, or if you get sent the wrong dress.
Even if you plan on shopping in person you should begin to a month before the dance. Danville is a relatively small city, which may lead to competition for finding dresses, with our school and many others.

If you are interested in traveling farther for a dress, Durham which is an estimated hour drive from Danville has a very large selection of dresses and local shops which have unique dresses you have never seen before!

Addition to this Durham is also known for their Abundance of thrift stores such as Durham Rescue Mission, New Nearly Thrift Shop, and Scrap Thrift. Thrift shops are an amazing and environmentally friendly way to find vintage dresses on a budget.
